Annual Roundtable of CROs

Description

In 2002, The Geneva Association decided to create, within its Programme on Risk Management, an ‘Annual Roundtable of Chief Risk Officers’. Its objective is to provide the CROs of the members' companies of The Geneva Association with a platform to discuss the roles, objectives and tasks of CROs, and to create a network to exchange experiences and discuss specific risk problems. Meetings are held annually usually in Autumn and hosted by one of The Geneva Association member’s companies.

These meetings also offer the researchers of The Geneva Association the opportunity to discuss our research activities with the risk specialists of our Member’s companies, and to identify and prioritise themes and issues of interest to the industry. They are open to the CROs of members’ companies of The Geneva Association. Questionnaires are sent out periodically to all the CROs of The Geneva Association in order to identify and verify the topics and issues proposed for future initiatives.

Events

  • The First ART of CROs meeting took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in Vouliagmeni near Athens, Greece, and was hosted by The ETHNIKI Insurance Company of Athens, assembling for the very first time the industry’s Chief Risk Officers! (programme)

  • The Second ART of CROs took place October 14-15, 2004 in New York, N.Y., on the subject of Capital Adequacy and Financial Risk Management and was hosted by GE Insurance Solutions. (programme)

  • The Third ART of CROs took place October 3-4, 2005, in Brussels and was hosted by Fortis  in Brussels. (programme)

  • The Fourth ART of CROs took place Oct 17-18, 2006, in Zürich and was hosted by Swiss Re.(programme)

  • The Fifth ART of CROs took place May 21-22, 2007, in Edinburgh and was hosteb by RBS Group. (programme)

  • The Sixth ART of CROs took place April (20) 21-22, 2008, in Ballerup. (programme)

  • The Seventh ART of CROs took place June 29-30, 2009, in Warsaw. (programme)

  • The Eighth ART of CROs took place April (28) 29-30, 2010, in Lisbon. (programme)
